plotted is made by Plot My Friends LLC. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and who it's shared with. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@plotmyfriends.com and we'll explain it properly.
We don't collect your location, contacts, or anything from other apps on your device.
We use this information to run the app itself: signing you in, connecting you with friends, scoring your quiz and showing your result, and sending the notifications you've opted into. We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it — plotted has no ads and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
If you tap "I'm in" on the board game page in the app, we save your name and email so we can let you know when the Kickstarter for plotted, the board game, launches. We don't add you to a mailing list. You can take yourself off from that same page at any time.
Friends can see your name, photo, and handle. They can only see your actual weekly result once you've both guessed each other's — your email address is never visible to other users. Nobody can search for or discover you; you can only be added by someone who already has your exact handle.
We use these outside services to run plotted: Google Firebase, which hosts our backend, database, and sign-in, and Expo, which delivers push notifications and app updates to your device. Notifications reach your phone through Apple's or Google's own notification service. If you sign in with Apple, Apple handles that sign-in too. Each only receives the information needed to provide its service. We don't share your information with advertisers or data brokers, and we don't sell it to anyone.
We also use Claude, an AI assistant made by Anthropic, to help us build and run plotted. It works from our own computer and only looks at account information (like a name or email address) when a task needs it, for example checking whether an account is a real person or a test account. We don't use it to profile you, and we've turned off the setting that lets Anthropic use our conversations to train its AI models.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated information at any time from profile → delete my account inside the app. This removes your account, quiz history, and friend connections immediately and can't be undone. If you'd rather request it by email instead, write to hello@plotmyfriends.com from the address associated with your account.
You can turn off notifications at any time from your device's settings.
plotted is meant for people 16 and older and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We rely on Firebase's security infrastructure and standard access controls to protect your information. No method of storing or transmitting data is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of plotted after a change means you accept the updated policy.
